World Cup-winning former India cricketer Syed Kirmani has criticised current players from both India and Pakistan for their “rude and arrogant” gestures during the three India versus Pakistan games at the recently-concluded Asia Cup. Kirmani said that the “current era of cricket was absolutely depressing to him”.

“The way cricket is being played all around — I won’t like to take the names of the countries — by and large, there has been no gentleman-ness in the game. There have been very rude, arrogant gestures on the field… I’m getting messages from all over… The Indian team has done what? What politics is going on in the field? I’m ashamed to listen to the comments,” Kirmani said in an interview with ANI.
