The Calhoun County Youth Center has completed a $13 million renovation, expanding its facility.

The project, approved by the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners in 2022, has transformed the 50-year-old center into a modern, safe environment for youth and staff, according to a community announcement.

The center has nearly doubled in size, from 15,760 to almost 30,000 square feet. The new design includes expanded classroom, counseling and recreation spaces, as well as upgraded security and communication systems. There are also dedicated areas for court hearings and medical care.
