Superstar Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been ruled out of a three-match T20 series against New Zealand starting on Wednesday after suffering a broken arm while bowling in the nets.
Of more significance is the near certainty that the big-hitting right-hander won't be fit to face India in a five-match T20 series on home soil ahead of the Ashes.

The 36-year-old was struck while bowling to teammate Mitchell Owen — the brutal hitter who announced himself with a 39-ball century in this year's Big Bash League final and has since bounced from one cashed-up overseas T20 league to another.
