TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Close to a week following Adelita Grijalva winning the Arizona Congressional District 7 election, she has not been sworn into congress.

The longer the delay, the longer it means she will not be able to vote or represent CD7 on several issues, including the Epstein files.

Grijalva told 13 News she could be sworn in as early as September 30, when congress is “pro forma” and no roll call votes are held. However, it is unclear why there is a delay in her swearing in.

Grijalva and her team believe her swearing in could take place on October 7, when congress is back in session. They also suspect Speaker Johnson could be waiting for her election results to be certified by October 14, extending the delay further.
