Police are probing the deaths of a woman and her eight-year-old daughter after their bodies were found at a luxury short-term rental in one of Brisbane’s most affluent suburbs.

Emergency crews were called to the Kenmore Hills property on Tinarra Crescent just after midday on Monday for a welfare check.

There, officers located the bodies of a 54-year-old Norman Park woman and the child in the home’s backyard.

Authorities are treating the case as a suspected murder-suicide.

It is understood police were alerted after the mother sent a delayed email outlining her intentions to someone she knew, who then raised the alarm.
