A Delhi court has granted bail to Gaganpreet, the woman accused in the recent BMW crash case, saying there were clear contradictions in the prosecution’s version of events.
The court noted that CCTV footage of the accident changed the initial assessment, weakening the charge of culpable homicide and suggesting the crash may have been a case of rash and negligent driving instead.
The court said the version in the FIR – that the BMW had directly hit the motorcycle from behind – was not backed by evidence. CCTV footage instead showed the car losing control, striking a divider, flipping, and in that process colliding with a motorcycle and a bus.
