An elderly doctor is recovering from serious injuries after he was allegedly stabbed in the neck by a patient at a medical clinic .
Emergency services were called to a doctor's office on Pitt Street in Sydney's CBD at 7pm on September 26 after receiving reports of an assault.
Police will allege in court that the 85-year-old doctor was treating a patient when he was stabbed in the neck.
The victim was treated for serious injuries to the neck by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to the hospital in a stable condition.
Investigators arrested a 57-year-old man at the clinic, and he was taken to Surry Hills Police Station.
Police then transported the man to the hospital for assessment, where he remains under police guard.
