The devastated family of a missing four-year-old on a remote outback sheep station say they are struggling to comprehend what has happened, as a desperate search enters its fourth day.

Gus has been missing from Mid North South Australia since 5pm on Saturday and was last seen on a property about 40km south of Yunta.

The boy’s family said in a statement they were deeply distressed by the disappearance of their beloved Gus.

“This has come as a shock to our family and friends, and we are struggling to comprehend what has happened,” the statement reads.

“Gus’ absence is felt in all of us, and we miss him more than words can express. Our hearts are aching, and we are holding onto hope that he will be found and returned to us safely.”
