CHENNAI: The Cyber Crime Police of Greater Chennai arrested YouTuber Felix Gerald on Tuesday for allegedly spreading disinformation through his YouTube channel in connection with the stampede at a Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) political rally in Karur, which claimed 41 lives and left over 50 injured, police said.

Police said Gerald was picked up from his residence in Nungambakkam in the early hours of the day. In a video uploaded on Red Pix, he had allegedly held the government responsible for the incident and expressed support for Vijay.

On Monday, police arrested three others Sagayam (38), BJP State secretary of art and culture, and TVK functionaries Sivaneshwaran (36) of Mangadu and Sharath Kumar (32) of Avadi for allegedly spreading rumours about the stampede on social media.
