If you grocery shop, you are well aware food prices are rising.

So it should come as no surprise that eating out at your favorite diner, drive-thru and fine dining establishments is also costing you more.

Across the nation, restaurant menu prices have been ticking upward. According to the National Restaurant Association, menu prices rose 0.3% in August, matching July’s increase as part of a steady upward trend.

Jason Minor, general manager of Black n Bleu in Hampden Township and the newly opened Poached in Mechanicsburg, said diners shouldn’t be shocked by higher menu prices.

“They see the trend in the grocery store,” he said. “I think a normal person would realize it’s going to affect us, too. If you’re paying more at the grocery store, we’re going to be paying more [to eat out] too.”
