IndiGo Flight Faces Bomb Threat, Emergency Declared
A serious security incident occurred on September 30, 2025, when an IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Delhi received a bomb threat. The flight, designated 6E 762, was carrying around 200 passengers and was operated using an Airbus A321 neo. Upon landing at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport at approximately 7:53 am, a full emergency was declared to ensure the safety of all onboard.
An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed the situation, stating, "A security threat was noticed onboard IndiGo flight 6E 762. Following the established protocol, we informed the relevant authorities immediately and fully cooperated with them in carrying out the necessary security checks before the aircraft was cleared for operations."
Security agencies conducted thorough checks, and the threat was assessed as non-specific. The airline took measures to minimize passenger inconvenience, providing refreshments and regular updates during the incident.
This incident follows a similar occurrence earlier in the month when another IndiGo flight from Mumbai to Phuket was diverted to Chennai due to a security threat. In that case, the airline also adhered to safety protocols and ensured passenger comfort during the disruption.
IndiGo has reiterated that the safety and security of its customers and crew remain its top priority, and investigations into the latest threat are ongoing.
