Boston Celtics star forward Jayson Tatum tore his Achilles tendon during the Eastern Conference semifinals in May. Tatum has been rehabbing his injury for the last four to five months, and his teammate Sam Hauser noticed Tatum working hard.
“He’s working his tail off,” Hauser said Monday, via WEEI’s Justin Turpin. “He’s in early, he’s the last one out. He’s doing everything he can to try to get back and play as soon as possible. It’s been pretty inspiring to watch.”
Players typically need about a year to recover from an Achilles tear, but Tatum seems to be in a good place in his rehab, which might allow him to return sooner.
“I’m in a really good spot. It’ll be five months tomorrow,” Tatum said Monday. “Being able to participate in a basketball workout was one of the more bright spo
