CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Cincinnati businesses are preparing for a big boom with the Reds heading to the playoffs for the first time since 2020.

While the team faces off against the Dodgers in Los Angeles, Cincinnati bars are being stocked, T-shirts are being printed and fans are exuberant.

“Get excited, it doesn’t happen that often,” said Patrick Eichold, sales associate at Koch Sporting Goods. “They have a shot at beating the Dodgers here and having a home game next week.”

Across Greater Cincinnati, businesses are preparing for a RedsOctober.

Fans are preparing for Tuesday’s 9 p.m. game when the Reds take on the Dodgers in the first postseason game.

Now is usually a time of year when Bengals orders skyrocket and the demand for Reds shirts goes down at Koch Sporting Goods.
