Two Chinese navy ships have arrived in Hong Kong early Tuesday ahead of the anniversary of Communist China on Wednesday.
The ships arrived from the east just after daybreak, heading through Hong Kong's iconic Victoria Harbour towards the traditional navy base at Stonecutters' Island, which was used by the British during their occupation of Hong Kong, and then kept on by the Chinese Peoples' Liberation Army navy.
The first in is the amphibious landing platform, called the Yimeng Shan.
Following that is the training ship Qi Jiguang.
The names of both are related to historical battles according to China's current Communist Party government.
The ships will be on show to the Hong Kong public on Oct. 1-2.
