Technically, ZaKiyah Johnson is a guard. But she has enough height, length and skill to play more than one position. For now, the LSU women’s basketball team has her in the post.
That became clear last Tuesday when the new-look Tigers began practicing for the 2025-26 season in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. Their first session showed that Johnson, one of the nation’s 10 best recruits, is pushing for a role in the frontcourt right away — just like three of the other four freshmen who comprise LSU’s top-ranked signing class.
“They better be ready,” coach Kim Mulkey said.
