SOUTH HOUSTON, Texas – A driver is in serious condition after investigators said he crashed into the side of a tattoo shop while fleeing from Pasadena police early Tuesday morning.
It happened around just before 1 a.m. near the 1100 block of Spencer Highway in South Houston. Pasadena officers said they first spotted the driver speeding and driving recklessly near Shaver and Spencer Hwy.
When officers tried to pull over the vehicle, police said the driver, an unidentified man, sped off. Moments later, he failed to navigate a turn and slammed into the side of a tattoo shop.
The car smashed through a brick wall and ruptured water lines to the building, officials said. Firefighters with the South Houston Fire Department were called to the scene and needed a wrecker to pull the vehicle out
