A Midlothian Farmfoods shop is set to close with gutted locals branding it 'the best place to shop'.

The store, which sits on Jarnac Court in Dalkeith , will be closing its doors on October 19. Residents in the area have been left concerned over where in the town they'll be doing their weekly shop.

The reason for the closure has not been confirmed by Farmfoods.

One gutted local resident said on social medai: "It's shocking it's the best place to shop."

Another added: "It's a ghost town the now."

A third posted: "Omg shocking, nowhere to shop."

The closest Farmfoods store will be in Musselburgh, with others also in Penicuik and at Fort Kinnaird in Edinburgh.

A spokesperson for Farmfoods confirmed the store will be closing on October 19.
