Forecasters are monitoring Tropical Storm Imelda , which is expected to become a hurricane on Tuesday, Sept. 30, according to the National Hurricane Center.

According to an early morning advisory on Tuesday, Sept. 30 , from the NHC, Bermuda is under a hurricane watch as Imelda is expected to approach the island on Wednesday , Oct. 1, as a hurricane.

The advisory also states that the storm is moving toward Bermuda and away from the southeastern United States.

The storm is moving northeast at nearly seven mph with maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, according to the NHC.
