CHICAGO — Commuters are facing some delays on Tuesday morning after an operational incident halted and delayed several trains on the Metra BNSF line.

According to a post shared by Metra on Tuesday morning, an operational incident halted inbound train movement near Route 59.

While specific details surrounding the incident remain unclear, officials said the issue is expected to cause extensive delays.

Additionally, due to the operational incident, Train #1205, scheduled to depart Chicago at 6:16 a.m. and Train #1236, scheduled to depart Aurora at 7:32 a.m., will not operate.

It is unclear how long the delays are expected to last or when crews are expected to get trains back on the move.
