MONONA, Wis. (WMTV) - The Monona Police Department arrested a Madison man early Tuesday morning after he allegedly threatened to harm family members and shoot the police.
Officials said the incident involved a person staying at an address on Ford St. in Monona. Once they got to the scene, officers learned a suspect was making the threats while staying with relatives at the location.
People in the home, including children, were able to get out. Police said they talked with 42-year-old Paul Muncie for several hours over the phone, who verified his intent to cause harm and shoot police.
More resources and trained police negotiators were also called in to help, according to the Monona Police Department.
