The Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission last week approved $6.7 million in grants for two secretive projects — only detailed by code names — in Pittsylvania County.
The commission hosted its final meeting of the year on Wednesday at nearby Virginia International Raceway in Alton.
Only known as “Project Valore” the group approved a grant of $5.7 million to help with site development costs, the commission reported in a Thursday statement. The money is contingent on the prospect’s commitment to the unidentified site.
“Project Titan” is in line to get a $1 million grant from the tobacco commission. That money would help with “construction of new acceleration and deceleration lanes to improve access to the project site,” the tobacco group reported. Again, that award is based on the proj
