HARTFORD, Connecticut — In an effort to address food insecurity, community leaders are proposing a new full-service grocery store in downtown Hartford .

The project, presented to city officials Monday at Dunkin’ Park, is part of the Arrowhead Gateway development and aims to provide residents with greater access to affordable, healthy food.

The proposed site is located between Ann Uccello and High Streets, directly across from the Hartford Public Safety Complex.

Members of the Community Action Task Force and the Healthy Hartford Hub say the plan extends beyond building a supermarket; it’s about enhancing the quality of life, boosting the local economy, and supporting small businesses.
