The Great Smoky Mountains National Park's Gatlinburg Bypass in Tennessee remains closed as crews continue cleanup following a significant landslide on Sept. 27, the National Parks Service announced Sept. 29.
Crews worked through Sept. 27 and 28 to remove over 70 loads of debris from the road. They will continue clearing debris from the road drainage, ditches and a culvert, which is currently blocked, NPS said in the news release. The park will provide an update once the site is fully stabilized and the road is ready for public use.
