Philo , the budget live TV streaming service that offers more than 70 channels, including Hallmark, TLC and A&E, has announced significant changes to its Core plan. Beginning on Tuesday, Core subscribers will be able to access ad-supported HBO Max and Discovery Plus; however, the price of the plan is also increasing from $28 to $33 per month.

The cost will rise on Tuesday for new Core customers and after one month for existing subscribers. Customers on the Core plan can watch HBO Max and Discovery Plus titles through their respective apps after using their Philo account to activate streaming. The company plans to offer ad-free upgrade options and the ability to watch Discovery Plus and select HBO content within the Philo app in early 2026.
