MYSURU: With Mysuru gearing up for the grand Dasara procession on Vijayadashami day, the festivities are in full swing. The procession, also known as the Jamboo Savari, is highlight of the event.

However, due to recent incidents of stampede including during the RCB IPL victory celebration in Bengaluru and the Karur incident during the TVK rally in Tamil Nadu, the district administration has taken extra precautions to ensure public safety.

The administration has reduced the seating capacity for the Jamboo Savari procession on the palace premises from 61,000 to 48,000 to prevent overcrowding. The police department has made elaborate security arrangements, including deployment of additional personnel and installation of surveillance cameras.
