MILWAUKEE BUCKS superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is battling Covid-19 and currently remains in Greece, unable to join his team as they prepare for the new NBA season.
The two-time MVP confirmed during a virtual media day appearance on Monday that he's isolating at home after testing positive and is waiting to get the all-clear before flying back to the U.S.
He said via The Athletic: “I’m just waiting for a negative test so I can leave my house and get on a plane.
“I don’t want to put anybody at risk.”
While clearly frustrated by the timing of the illness, the 29-year-old remains focused on getting back.
He added: “I’m definitely disappointed. Bummed out that I’m not able to be there with the team and get this ball rolling.
