MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Two people were hospitalized after multiple vehicles collided on the Capital Beltway in Montgomery County on Tuesday morning.

Maryland State Police told DC News Now that the collision occurred just before 6 a.m. on the outer loop of Interstate 495, near the American Legion Bridge. The crash involved six vehicles.

State police said two people were taken to separate hospitals to be treated for their injuries.

Early Tuesday morning, traffic cameras on the beltway showed cars and trucks slowly inching through traffic.
