MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA)— A man who was already charged and in custody for double murder was released from jail when he shouldn't have been, the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office announced.

James Edward Daniels was charged with a double murder that happened on December 5, 2020, in Opa-Locka, Florida.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies are assisting federal partners in locating Daniels after they were informed he should not have been released from jail.

According to NBC affiliate WTVJ, Osmar Olivia, 50, and Johan Gonzalez Quesada, 26, were found in the yard of 1801 Rutland Street.

Olivia and Gonzalez Quesada, who were truckers, were kidnapped along with another victim, who was airlifted to a hospital and survived, from a truck yard.
