The Russian forward has signed an eight-year contract worth $136 million, covering the duration of the deal. This contract runs through the end of the 2033-34 season and carries a massive salary cap hit of $17 million per season. The deal is the largest contract in NHL history.

Kaprizov has only played for the Wild over his five-year NHL career. The 28-year-old recorded 25 goals and 31 assists for 56 points in 41 games this season. These point totals occurred despite him dealing with injuries for a good chunk of the season.
