Last week, Gujarat BJP chief and Union Minister C R Patil and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel addressed media persons at the party’s state headquarters, Shree Kamalam, to push the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign of the central leadership. In their address, the two leaders laid emphasis on the need to buy Swadeshi goods to make the campaign a success. During the event, in an informal interaction with party workers, some media persons commented that one should check how many BJP party workers present there were wearing foreign goods like watches, shoes etc. To this, a party worker, who is known for using certain foreign articles, said that he was aware of the possibility of such a comment on the occasion and therefore had worn indigenous articles including shoes for the day.
