Tributes have been pouring in for a pioneering Edinburgh woman who dedicated her life to animal welfare.
Doreen Graham passed away at the age of 72. She was born in the capital back in 1953, and spent her life working at various animal charities .
She led a pioneering campaign linking domestic abuse and animal cruelty, and was awarded an MBE earlier this year. The Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, where she worked for many years, said she will be 'deeply missed'.
Through her life, Doreen worked for The Scottish Wildlife Trust before spending 13 years at the Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty for Animals. She then moved on to the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home.
While with the SSPCA, Doreen also pioneered a team which pushed a campaign to highlight the link between animal cruelty
