**Title: Israeli Forces Kill 31 Palestinians Amid Peace Proposal Debate**

CAIRO — Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip resulted in the deaths of at least 31 Palestinians on Tuesday, according to local hospitals. This escalation comes as discussions intensify regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace proposal, which aims to end the ongoing conflict in the region.

Hamas, the governing body in Gaza, announced it would review the peace plan with its members and other Palestinian factions before making a decision. The proposal includes provisions for ending hostilities, ensuring humanitarian aid, and facilitating reconstruction efforts. However, it also requires Hamas to disarm, a condition the group has previously rejected. Additionally, the plan would place Gaza and its population of over 2 million under international control for an extended period.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed support for the proposal, which has received praise from several Arab leaders. However, many Palestinians remain skeptical.

Umm Mohammed, a history teacher in Gaza City, criticized the proposal, stating, "They want to impose their own peace. In fact, this is not a peace plan. It’s a surrender plan. It returns us to times of colonialism."

Mahmoud Abu Baker, a displaced resident from Rafah, echoed her sentiments, arguing that the proposal favors Israeli interests without offering any concessions to Palestinians. "(The proposal) tells that we, as Palestinians, as Arabs, are not qualified to rule ourselves and that they, the white people, will rule us," he said.

In the West Bank, some Palestinians accused Netanyahu and Trump of attempting to resolve the conflict without consulting those directly affected. Mohammad Shahin, a resident of Nablus, remarked, "It turned into a joke. They acted like they own the whole world, deciding, analyzing and dividing things however they want."

Meanwhile, Israelis visiting a memorial for victims of the October 7 Hamas attack expressed doubts about the effectiveness of the peace proposal. Amit Zander, who lost his daughter in the attack, stated, "Everyone pins their hopes on (Trump)... it’s up to Hamas. Israel wants it, and beyond that, it’s no longer in our hands." Adi Nissim, another visitor, added, "It’s definitely an effort to change something, but there have been efforts the whole time during this whole war and change hasn’t really happened, so I think it’s all up in the air."

The violence on Tuesday included a reported 17 Palestinians killed and 33 injured in Netzarim while seeking humanitarian aid, according to Al-Awda Hospital. Later, Israeli airstrikes in central Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp killed four more individuals. Additionally, strikes on tents in Muwasi, previously designated as a safe zone, resulted in the deaths of seven people, including four women and a child. Another strike killed a man, his pregnant wife, and their young child.

The Israeli military has not commented on the specific incidents but stated that its forces had targeted several armed militants and over 160 Hamas infrastructure sites in the past 24 hours. Hamas is believed to be holding 48 hostages, with 20 thought to be alive.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that the death toll since the conflict began has surpassed 66,000, with nearly 170,000 injured. The ministry, which operates under Hamas, does not distinguish between civilians and militants in its figures but claims that women and children constitute about half of the casualties. These statistics are regarded as reliable estimates by the United Nations and various independent experts.

Israel accuses Hamas of using civilian areas to conceal its military operations. The ongoing Israeli offensive has devastated large portions of Gaza, displacing approximately 90% of the population and leading to a severe humanitarian crisis, with reports indicating that Gaza City is facing famine conditions.
