GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - The Gulfport Police Department arrested a teen on a charge of drive-by shooting.

GPD says 18-year-old Henry Chonggong Fomunyam was taken into custody Tuesday.

Friday, around 2:27 p.m., officers responded to the area of Trailwood Drive and Cypress Court after reports of a gun being fired.

When officers got there, they found a vehicle that had been struck by a bullet. Following a thorough investigation, GPD says detectives identified Fomunyam as the suspect responsible for the drive-by shooting.

Fomunyam was taken into custody and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where he’s being held on a $500,000 bond.
