It's been a whirlwind of a year for students and staff at Marquez Elementary in Pacific Palisades, but now, the school is ready to welcome kids back to campus in temporary buildings.

Until today, families and teachers have been going to school at a totally different campus, 11 miles away in the Sawtelle area of west LA.

Their beloved school needed major work after the January fire destroyed and damaged much of the campus.

But, over the past 10 months or so there’s been a ton of heavy lifting to clean this up.

For the next few years, classrooms and school buildings will be in temporary facilities while new permanent buildings and grounds are built.
