The best conversations about art don’t always happen in a lecture hall. Sometimes it’s between a third grader and college student with their hands covered in printmaking ink.

On Saturday, October 4, 2025 between noon and 4 p.m. the Syracuse University Art Museum opens its doors to the entire Syracuse community for their biannual free, family-forward Community Day – promising to be one of the city’s most creative afternoons.

The Syracuse University Art Museum is located in the Shaffer Art Building right next to the College Place bus stop.

Coordinated by the staff of the Syracuse University Art Museum and led by the team’s curator of education & academic outreach Kate Holohan, the galleries will be filled with activities for people of all ages including:
