More than 11.31 lakh health camps have been held across India under the Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday, September 30. The campaign, launched earlier this month by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has reached over 6.51 crore citizens with preventive screenings and medical services, according to official data reported by IANS.
Record outreach for women and children
The ministry described the initiative as the largest health outreach of its kind in the country with a sharp focus on women and child health. Of those screened, 1.44 crore citizens were checked for hypertension and 1.41 crore for diabetes.
