An explosion in tourism over the past decade has Banff, Alta., looking at ways to manage visitors.

That will come in the form of a human use management framework, which will include strategies for addressing the influx of traffic and human congestion in the town.

The Town of Banff is four square kilometres and has fewer than 10,000 residents. Some residents have voiced concerns about growing visitation and have pushed backed, saying it's impacting their quality of life.

"There's 8,500 people in this community. Every single one of them is affected by this topic, so it's really important we have much more conversation around this topic," said Coun. Grant Canning.
