President Donald Trump’s decision to federalize the Oregon National Guard to quell the protests outside of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement base in what he’s called “war-ravaged Portland” has plenty of critics in the city and across the state.
Many Portlanders have responded to the move with images and videos of idyllic Portland scenes across social media, pictures of sunsets, parks, rivers, children biking, farmers’ markets and more.
But Monday night, the bit went national, when late-night hosts Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and Jon Stewart skewered the president’s claims about Portland.
