CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning on South Carolina Highway 9 near Azalea Road just outside Cheraw, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol .
The collision occurred at 6:30 a.m. when a vehicle traveling east on SC 9 struck a pedestrian and drove away from the scene, Master Trooper Hannah Davidson said.
Information about the vehicle that left the scene is still pending investigation. State troopers said a poster will be released once further details become available.
Chesterfield County officials haven't released the name of the person killed in the crash at this time.
The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
