WAYNE COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - The Wayne County courthouse has announced it will be suspending probation operations for one week following severe damage to the building caused by a fire.

On Friday, September 26, the Wayne County courthouse caught fire and suffered significant damage. The source of the fire is still under investigation.

The courthouse sent out a release notifying residents that all those on probation with the Wayne County Probation for State Court will be required to report to 341 E. Walnut St., Jesup, Georgia, 31546 for the week of September 29 through October 6.

Reporting will resume on October 6, unless the court orders otherwise.

The courthouse did say that it will be holding state court in Courtroom C on Friday, Oct. 3. All those who received notices are still required
