ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI - A man faces multiple felony charges related to cockfighting at his Hopkins Township home, Allegan County sheriff’s deputies said.

Edin Dilson Rodas, 37, is charged in Allegan County District Court with four counts of animal fighting and a single count of third-degree animal killing/torture.

He is free on $5,000 bond.

The charges stem from an alleged cockfighting event on July 26 at the defendant’s home.

Two days later, an animal-advocacy group, Showing Animals Respect and Kindness, or SHARK, provided sheriff’s deputies with video of the alleged cockfighting.

It shows multiple people at the event, with a man appearing to hit roosters with an object.

Police used a search warrant on July 29 at Rodas’ home and recovered additional evidence.
