Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has advised Mohsin Naqvi to pick one of his two crucial posts of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and the Minister of Interior to focus on, and give up on the other. Afridi believes that the decision needs to be made ‘as soon as possible’ because Pakistan cricket needs ‘special attention and time’ which Naqvi isn’t able to provide with his constant juggling of roles.
Naqvi is feeling a bit of pressure at the moment. Since his appointment in 2024 as the chairman, he has overseen Pakistan’s poor performances in home Tests and the 2025 Champions Trophy, while overseeing multiple coaching changes.
