An Indian-origin couple from Australia apologized on Monday, September 29, after a video of them kissing during a Garba event in Vadodara went viral. The video, filmed on September 26 at the United Way Garba in Kalali ground, showed the couple dancing energetically. At one point, the husband lifted his wife and kissed her on the lips.

The event is one of the largest Navratri celebrations in the world, with 30,000-35,000 people attending each night, including many NRIs.

The video spread quickly on social media and received criticism. Some viewers called it “obscene” and said it disrespected the cultural and religious spirit of Navratri.
