President Donald Trump referenced a racial slur during a meeting with top U.S. military leaders in Virginia on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
During a 72-minute speech at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Trump said he had "moved a submarine or two over to the coast of Russia" in response to nuclear threats made about three months ago by Russian spokesperson Dmitry Medvedev .
Trump told the audience of mainly stoic officers that he refers to the nuclear threat as the “N-word,” referencing a racial slur. “We can't let people throw around that word," Trump said. "I call it the N-word. There are two N-words, and you can’t use either of them.”
