(WJW) – People who make minimum wage in Ohio will get paid more next year.
Ohio’s minimum wage will increase on Jan. 1, 2026. to $11 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.50 per hour for tipped employees.
It is a 2.8% increase from 2025’s minimum wage in Ohio which is $10.70.
Voters approved an amendment in 2006 that states Ohio’s minimum wage shall increase on January 1 each year by the rate of inflation.
Federal minimum wage remains $7.25 per hour. It has not increased since 2009.
