It’s time to check on your Sims -loving friends — their Fun-meter is probably in the red following news that their favorite game will soon be co-owned by Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. On Monday, Electronic Arts, the company that owns The Sims , Madden NFL , and EA Sports FC (formerly FIFA ), announced in a press release that it would be going private in a $55 billion deal. The group buying EA is made up of private-equity firms Silver Lake, Saudi Arabia’s Public Interest Fund, and Kushner’s Affinity Partners.

According to EA, this deal is “the largest all-cash sponsor take-private investment in history,” and shareholders will be getting $210 per share in cash. The deal is expected to close by next June, so your gaming is probably safe from any private-
