GREENSBORO, N.C. (Gray News) – A young girl in North Carolina died last week after being left alone in a hot car.
According to the Greensboro Police Department , 30-year-old Shyeim Deion Moore took his daughter to the hospital on the evening of Sept. 24, where she was pronounced dead that night.
Moore was charged with felony child abuse.
Police said specific details about the girl’s death can’t be released to the public since it is an ongoing investigation.
“What I can be clear about is that no child should be left unattended in a vehicle,” Assistant Chief Ric Alston said Monday. “The temperature here was in the 80s that day. This little girl’s death was absolutely preventable. … That is heartbreaking.”
Authorities said the girl had just turned 4 years old earlier this month.
