Three men and their baby want to be recognized as a family by the Quebec government.

Eric LeBlanc, Jonathan Bedard and Justin Maheu have been waiting seven years to become parents together, which happened earlier this month when the trio’s adoption of a three-year-old girl came to fruition, _CTV News_ reported.

The three men, who live as a throuple, adopted her through Quebec Youth Protection Services after a years-long process in which they faced rejection at times.

Their lawyer found an agency that agreed to take them on, and the evaluation process began.

“Through that process they learned that we are a little different because we’re three, but we’re not different from any other family,” LeBlanc told the outlet.
