WASHINGTON – The beloved children's educational program "Reading Rainbow" is returning to screens nearly 20 years after its final episode aired.

The classic PBS series will be revived on the KidZuko YouTube channel , a kid-focused channel produced by Sony Pictures Television. Buffalo Toronto Public Media (BTPM), the same company that produced the original show decades ago, will produce the new episodes from Buffalo, New York.

A BTPM spokesperson confirmed in a statement that the series will return for a four-episode run, accompanied by companion vertical videos. The show will be available starting at 9 a.m. CST each Saturday in October on the KidZuko channel and on ReadingRainbow.org .
