SAN JOSE — A Milpitas teen was arrested this week on suspicion of shooting a gun near a Sikh temple and adjacent school in the Evergreen hills back in February, authorities said.

The gunfire claim was not immediately reported; police were alerted in March about a Feb. 23 disturbance near Sikh Gurdwara, in the 3600 block of Gurdwara Avenue. The report described a clash between “male juveniles that led an alleged negligent discharge of a firearm,” San Jose police said in a news release Tuesday.

Detectives eventually identified a 16-year-old boy as a suspect in the shooting, and learned that the boy was also suspected of shooting off a gun in other instances, including one near a school in Milpitas, police said.
